Principle Structural Engineer
- Lead designer on a range of projects appropriate to your level of experience
- Preparation of structural scheme designs
- Managing the workflow of structural analysis models/ BIM models
- Carrying out structural analysis and design
- Leading the production of drawings and reports
- Working closely and guiding technicians and junior engineering staff
- Attending meetings with the design team, contractors, and clients
- Collaborating with architects and other disciplines in the design team
- Leading the project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines
- Attending site to carry out inspections
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- A third level qualification (Level 8 Degree or higher) in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Ideally a chartered engineer with Engineers Ireland or the Institute of Structural Engineers
- 6-10years’ experience in a Civil/Structural Engineering office in a design role
- Good management and organisational skills
- Experience in reinforced concrete design to the Eurocodes
- Proficient in the use of structural design software, e.g., Robot,MasterSeries, SCIA,Tekla, etc
- Good technical capability and a proactive approach to solving problems
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in the EU using Eurocodes
- Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- A level 9 Master’s Degree in a related discipline
- Experience in structural steel design to the Eurocodes
- A working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
- Experience in finite element analysis generating 3D structural models
- Technical report writing capability
