Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description

  • Lead design engineer on a range of projects appropriate to your level of experience
  • Preparation of civil engineering designs
  • Leading the production of drawings and reports
  • Working with and guiding technicians and junior engineering staff
  • Attending meetings with design teams, contractors, and clients
  • Collaborating with architects and other disciplines in the design team
  • Leading the project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines
  • Attending site to carry out inspections

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • A third level qualification (Level 8 Degree or higher) in Civil Engineering
  • Chartered or ambitions to become Chartered with Engineers Ireland
  • 6-10 years experience working in anEngineering Consultancy
  • Good management and organisational skills
  • Good technical capability and a proactive approach to solving problems
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in the design of all aspects of civil engineering infrastructure
  • Experience with preparing planning permissions in Ireland through both conventional and SHD planning procedures
  • Experience leading projects from pre-planning/feasibility stages all the way through to completion
  • A working knowledge of Windes, Civil 3D and AutoCAD
