- Working within the structural engineering team on major building projects
- Working closely with the lead engineer preparing structural designs
- Collaborating with architects and other disciplines in the design team
- Assisting in the production of drawings and reports
- Attending design team and site meetings
- Aiding the project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines
- Attending site to carry out inspections
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- A third level qualification (Level 8 Degree or higher) in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Civil/Structural Engineering office in a design role
- Experience in reinforced concrete design to the Eurocodes
- Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure
- Proficient in the use of structural design software, e.g., Robot, MasterSeries, Tekla Tedds etc
- Good technical capability and a proactive approach to solving problems
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in the EU using Eurocodes
- Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- A level 9 Master’s Degree in a related discipline
- Experience in structural steel design to the Eurocodes
- A working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
- Experience in finite element analysis generating 3D structural models
- Technical report writing capability
