Structural Engineer

Job Description

  • Working within the structural engineering team on major building projects
  • Working closely with the lead engineer preparing structural designs
  • Collaborating with architects and other disciplines in the design team
  • Assisting in the production of drawings and reports
  • Attending design team and site meetings
  • Aiding the project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines
  • Attending site to carry out inspections

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • A third level qualification (Level 8 Degree or higher) in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Civil/Structural Engineering office in a design role
  • Experience in reinforced concrete design to the Eurocodes
  • Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure
  • Proficient in the use of structural design software, e.g., Robot, MasterSeries, Tekla Tedds etc
  • Good technical capability and a proactive approach to solving problems
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in the EU using Eurocodes
  • Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • A level 9 Master’s Degree in a related discipline
  • Experience in structural steel design to the Eurocodes
  • A working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience in finite element analysis generating 3D structural models
  • Technical report writing capability
