Structural Engineer

Job Description:

  • Involvement in a range of large scale projects
  • Managing the production of drawings and reports and preparing and coordinating structural specifications
  • Collaborating with Engineers from other disciplines
  • Liaison with Clients and Local Authorities
  • Attendance at meetings
  • Aiding the project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team

Ideally candidates would have:

  • Relevant third level qualification
  • 5+ years experience in a design consultancy
  • Proficient in current structural design software;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan workload efficiently and work without the need for excessive supervision.
  • Experience at all project design stages from concept & feasibility through to detailed design & construction
  • Experience reviewing contractor proposals, submittals, temporary works design etc.
  • Experience with online document management systems
  • Experience with Irish Building Regs, Eurocode, BC(A)R etc.
